August 2017 - H.WELLS

August brought the Yellow Faithful Experimental Recordings Studio (YFARCH) north from NYC, to tap into the pace and nature of Rural Projects. The output was two bodies of new recordings by sound engineer H.Wells.The first work is a suite of lo-fi compositions that explore the audial-emotional relationship between the abstraction of early sound performance and their analog recording process, and the performances embodying 19th and early 20th century American and European balladry, minimalism, noise, and drone. The second is a scape of American and European ballad noise-driven works by the Brooklyn-based experimental group Ottomotty (S.Halpern and H.Wells). Ottomotty has given a handful of live performances in NYC and the outlying boroughs since 2012.Both endeavors were recorded at Rural Project for YFARCH.H.Wells currently lives and works in Brooklyn, New York, where he has spent the last 12 years composing works and recording for YFARCH. He has given more than ten dozen live musical demonstrations.
